About the Rotary India Literacy Mission :-
EDUCATING 100,000 ADULT NON-LITERATES ACROSS THE COUNTRY IN INDIA IN 2016 – 17.
“Total Literacy & Quality Education” in India. To accomplish this mission RILM has implemented a holistic literacy program called T-E-A-C-H. TEACH is divided into five verticals, each distinct in their respective approaches but unified in their objective of attaining total literacy, contributing to the overall goal of the program:
T – Teacher Support
E – E-learning
A – Adult Literacy
C – Child Development
H – Happy School
The current RFP is for partnership under the Adult Literacy Program which is named Swabhimaan – Dignity through Education. This program aims to identify adult (15+ age) non-literates in rural as well as urban areas and impart functional literacy to them, RILM deems it crucial to build meaningful partnership with organizations already working in this field. This is a call for such collaboration. Through this partnership, Swabhimaan Centres will be set up by the NGOs to implement the program.
6 months from the date of signing the MoU.
On completion of the course the adult learners appear for the National Institute of Open Schooling examination and are certified as neo-literates on successfully clearing the same.
